Types Of Equipment You Can Rent For Your Major High-Rise Construction Project

by Ethan Mccoy

A major construction project can take months to complete. During that time, you will need to have a variety of equipment on hand to get the job done right. Some types of equipment aim to make the job easier, while others are necessary to complete the project.

Here are two unique types of equipment you can rent for a high-rise construction project:

Boom Lifts

Boom lifts are a type of aerial platform used to provide workers with access to high areas. They are often used in construction and maintenance work because they can reach up to hundreds of feet off the ground.

Boom lifts come in two main types—telescopic and articulating lifts. Telescopic boom lifts have a straight arm that extends straight up to provide vertical reach. They are best suited for working in wide-open spaces. Articulating boom lifts have a jointed arm that can extend and pivot, to provide both vertical and horizontal reach. They are best suited for working in tight spaces, especially between other buildings.

Both types of boom lifts can be rented from equipment rental companies, with the charges depending on the rental period, equipment type, and other relevant factors.

Remember that operating a boom lift requires special training, so be sure to have your workers undergo the necessary training before using one on the job site. When used correctly, boom lifts can be valuable for any high-rise construction project.

Concrete Pumps

A concrete pump is a machine that transfers liquid concrete to the job site. It is often used for large construction projects, such as high-rise buildings, where a traditional concrete mixer would not be able to reach.

These pumps come in various sizes, with the smaller ones able to fit on a truck and the larger ones requiring a trailer. There are also stationary concrete pumps, often used for large projects.

The pump looks like a large metal cylinder with a concrete hose attached. The operator will control the pump from a platform at the back of the machine. To use the pump, the operator will first mix the concrete in a truck-mounted mixer. Once the concrete is mixed, it is transferred to the pump, where it is then pumped through the hose to the job site.

However, before renting a concrete pump, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you will need to have enough space on the job site to store the concrete. Second, the job site needs to be accessible for the pump truck. You want to make sure there is a clear path for the truck to get to the site, as it will need to be positioned close to where the concrete will be poured. And finally, you will need a qualified operator who is familiar with using the equipment. These pumps are not easy to operate and require a high level of skill.

When used correctly, concrete pumps can save a lot of time and effort on a construction project. They are especially helpful for projects located in hard-to-reach areas or where space is limited.
